Let’s Celebrate Languages 2025!
In this activity the children looked at celebrating languages across school. Although we teach French at All Souls’, we want children to value all languages around the world. We want our children to understand the importance of learning an additional language in order to really appreciate why we learn French in our school.
Enjoy some photos of children across our school taking part in the national ‘Let’s Talk About Languages’ event.
Following on from this, the children then met in their Key Stage assemblies to share what they learnt in their classroom and discuss the importance of all language around the world.
We all really enjoyed this week of activities!
Christmas with our Link School Part 1
We loved writing greeting cards to our pen pals in France. We wrote about information what we planned to do over the holidays and wished them a Merry Christmas using their local greeting/holiday phrases in French. We then got Christmas cards in return and had so much fun reading them out loud and finding out about Christmas traditions in another country. We couldn't believe these had been delivered from another country! In our classes, we talked about the journey that these cards may have been on to be able to reach us in school.
Christmas with our Link School Part 2
Please enjoy watching our Christmas performances of traditional Christmas carols. We created these to share with our link school in Toulouse to show them the types of songs we sing with our families and friends around this time of year. In class we loved researching the songs that we might hear if we visited France too!
French Quality Mark 2024
All Souls' is very proud to have achieved an Outstanding Award for our teaching and learning in French across the school.
Our staff work so hard in giving children the best opportunities to become 'linguists' and our children are extremely dedicated to their learning of the French language.
Bravo à tous!
