SEND Advice Line & Drop in Sessions |
The SEND advice line is an inclusive and confidential service in Rochdale, providing information and support to parents, carers, and young people. The service works collaboratively with a range of SEND services in Rochdale, taking a multidisciplinary approach to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people aged 0-25 years. The service aims to empower families, by offering early intervention and guidance, helping them to feel confident in promoting success, for their children's futures.

Any parent/carer of a neurodiverse child/young person who needs help.
Drop in Sessions - What to expect: You will have a consultation with a member of the Neurodiversity Hub. They will discuss your concerns and support available. The sessions are jointly run with the Home-Start RAASS service and so you can chat to the Home-Start staff and other parents and look at resources whilst you wait. You will be offered a drink and a biscuit or breakfast.
Advice Lines - What to expect: You will have a consultation with a member of the Neurodiversity Hub. They will discuss your concerns and support available.

You will then be added to a ‘call back’ list and a member of the team will return your call between 6-8pm. |
Riding the Rapids |
Riding the Rapids is a free course designed for parents and carers of children and young people aged 3-16 whose needs indicate they are Neurodivergent. The course aims to help parents to understand and support their child’s well-being, and reduce stress, distress and distress-related behaviours or other behaviours of concern. Research shows that parents and carers who attend Riding the Rapids can: · Develop effective strategies to support their children · Increase their coping skills and confidence, reducing stress

Please note this course is for parents and carers only. Please do not bring your child or young person.
The courses are 2 hours per week for 10 weeks. They are being planned to take place in the mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends so they are more accessible for parents to attend.

Rochdale Parent Carer Voice – Umbrella Sessions |
The Umbrella support and information sessions are delivered by parent/carer facilitators with lived experience and will support families of children and young people with neurodiversity in several ways, detailed below. The offer is available to any family whose child is neurodiverse and does not require the child or young person to have a diagnosis. It will enable families to build resilience and gain skills and strategies to support their child or young person at home and in the community. |

Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale early attachment service
This service brings together a range of professionals from Healthy Young Minds, Home-Start, maternity, Thinking Ahead, and adult mental health.
We promote the importance of parent and infant mental health and the first relationship an infant has with their parent or carer.
We work with you during pregnancy, and with you and your babies and young children up until their second birthday.
